Tonight there were 2 major changes in the set list: Little Wing was played instead of Isn’t It A Pity and Motherless Children was replaced by Got To Get Better In A Little While!
The concert took place on a village green in the center of Wiesbaden, an outdoor concert again. When we were driving to Wiesbaden we had some torrential rain, so it didn’t look to good for an outdoor concert. But we had listened to Eric’s advice (interview with Johnnie Walker), and we had brought our weatherproof! But this time we were lucky, during the concert the weather was great.
The concert was probably one of the best Eric Clapton concerts I have seen. First of all, he seemed to be in a very good mood tonight, there was a smile on his face when he came on stage and it was still on his face when he left the stage! Very unusual nowadays!
Eric’s playing throughout the concert was phenomenal, the rest of the band was great too. For me the most outstanding songs were Little Wing, Why Does Love Got To Be So Sad and LIttle Queen Of Spades.
